you’re focusing too much on £ (and missing the bigger opportunity)
the real value of your personal brand happens before you get paid
Everyone always thinks building a personal brand is linked solely to making money via brand deals… it’s not !!!
I think this is where a lot of people get it slightly wrong because yes - brand deals are the most obvious outcome, they’re the thing people talk about the most… potentially the easiest to quantify??
If you read my last post, you’ll know that my personal brand has been the through line in everything I’ve built aged 28-32 👷🏻♀️
What I didn’t really speak about is everything it unlocked outside of direct income… and this is the bit that really changed things for me… brand deals came a lot later (when I had time/space and energy)!
Getting clients (without chasing them)
Yes ok - this still links to revenue… but it’s not the traditional “post content → get paid” model. It’s about building a business that people come to.
We get around 200 creators applying to be on the tbh roster every month (which still feels a bit mad to say out loud)… and what’s been really interesting is that we’ve had a better success rate with clients who have found and approached us… vs us reaching out to them.
Instead of spending hours outbound, pitching, convincing… people already understand how we think, what we stand for, and whether they vibe with us… so by the time they land, it’s already warm.
Networking… when you really can’t be bothered
I’m going to be honest - I don’t always fancy networking events. Sometimes the thought of small talk… drains me before I’ve even got there, but writing a Linkedin post? Sharing a perspective? Commenting on something relevant? Sooooo much easier!!
From doing that, I’ve had:
partnerships
speaking gigs
investor intros
advisory roles
all come to me
Being pulled into rooms is so much more fun than pushing your way in !!
Press (without starting from scratch)
I’ve been featured in vogue business, bloomberg, the metro, stylist, the share…

and that came from having content that had already landed because when something performs well, it becomes proof that people are interested in hearing you speak on that topic… and suddenly you’re not saying “please feature me”
you’re showing “this is already resonating” and that is interesting to publications that have authority (yes) but are already fighting for attention!
Being taken more seriously (even though it’s slightly depressing)
I wish this wasn’t true, but it is. People take you more seriously when there’s a number next to your name. There’s an assumption of credibility, trust, legitimacy (and yes - that only works if your content actually has substance), but it changes how people approach you and it opens doors that are otherwise harder to access.
Hiring (this one changed so much for me)
Since I started my personal brand, I’ve never struggled with hiring. Every role we put out gets hundreds of applicants… and it’s not just volume - it’s quality !! People already understand what we’re building, what we care about, how we think… so they’re coming in aligned off the bat.
(Which, if you’ve ever hired before… you’ll know is half the battle 😅!!)
So yes your personal brand can make you money, but really it’s about building leverage
And once you have that… everything becomes a bit easier, the snowball starts rolling faster, and you stop having to push it all the time
Aaaand I want this for you too. So i am hosting a free workshop with tide (ad) on how to build a personal brand with leverage, one that works for you and isn’t just another job to keep up with!!
We went out publicly yesterday evening and we have a limited number of spots left, so if you’ve been thinking about it - this is your nudge to just book it!!
It’s free (you just need to set up a tide business account, using my code VERITYPARK). If you already have a business account with tide - you can join the waiting list.
Can’t wait to meet some of you there 🥹🤍
